Biographical sketch

Dr. Stier received his Ph.D. in Crop and Soil Sciences from Michigan State University and his M.S. degree in Plant Pathology from The Ohio State University. John Stier is currently the Chair of the Horticulture Department and also chairs the Curriculum Study Committee for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin. He brings with him a delightful sense of humor, a passion for students, and a strong work ethic. He will be able to share new perspectives on the teaching mission and best practices gained from having experienced the academic side of three different universities, the University of Wisconsin, Michigan State University, and The Ohio State University.
